Hello Travelers,
Pack your bags we’re headed to Viva Las Vegas, virtuality. Kelsey and I are taking this time to look back on our fun adventures and plan for the future!

Obviously everyone knows it’s the city of lights, gambling and shows. What most people don’t know is there is so much more to do outside the city. Las Vegas is a great place for a weekend trip.
We have done this weekend trip several times to save PTO.
There are plenty of deals out of most airports to Vegas. Frontier, Spirit, and Allegiant are a few of the airlines that offer reasonable deals.
Things to do outside the city:
Red Rock Canyon
Located about 25 miles away from the strip.
They have a variety of hiking trails, visit the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center for more information. They will suggest routes based on weather conditions and experience level.

Want more of a laidback experience? They have a Scenic Drive throughout the park.

$15 per vehicle- 1 day pass
1000 Scenic Loop Drive
Las Vegas, NV 89161
Seven Magic Mountain
This art instillation is open to the public for free, is 21 miles from downtown. Seven Magic Mountains was originally a temporary instillation but has been extended until 2021. Check it out before it is removed!
Free admission
S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89054
The Neon Sign Museum
Visit the retired signs from the famous Las Vegas Strip. These backdrops make the perfect photo opportunity. I highly recommend seeing this blast from the past

770 Las Vegas Blvd N, Las Vegas, NV 89101
Egg Works Restaurant
Before stopping at the Sign Museum we had breakfast at Egg Works. Wow let me tell you, this restaurant had 5 star service and the food was outstanding. Upon arrival we were greeted with homemade banana nut muffins complimentary since we were new. Everything we tried was delicious and portion sizes were huge!
For all my Cincinnati friends, they had Cincy Chili! Since I grew up eating the best cough, cough (Skyline) I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was honestly great. If you are out in Vegas and need a slice of Ohio come to Egg Works.

Death Valley National Park
This is a slightly further than the other options, about 2 hours from the strip is Death Valley National Park. If you are up for the adventure, visit the salt flats in Badwater Basin and Artist Drive.
Badwater Road, Death Valley National Park, CA 92328
Before leaving Vegas, check the temperature! They can have extreme heat advisories for this area and if you are not prepared it can quickly escalate to life threatening. When we were there it was unusually cold and snowed earlier that day!

$30 per vehicle- 7 day pass
If you are interested in hiking I’d suggest purchasing an annual national park pass.
Cost: $80 annual pass per person
Until next time,
